This edition of “Favorite Things Friday” is brought to you today by Buddy. Back on his 6th birthday, I asked him a series of questions , and was surprised by how matter-of-fact and serious some of his responses were. Since kindergarten is almost over (!), I thought this would be a good time to revisit this … and also ask him some other very important questions.
Favorite Food: Macaroni and cheese
Favorite Snack: Vanilla wafers
Favorite Game: Twister (Umm, can’t remember the last time we played that game. Now Uno on the other hand …)
Favorite Sport: Soccer
Favorite Athlete: Daddy (Bwa-ha-ha-ha … alright, Dr. G., how much did you pay him to say that??)
Favorite Thing to Do in School: Write (I almost shed a tear with this one … like mother, like son)
Favorite Toy: Legos (Shocking, I know; see this post)
Favorite Color: Red (As it has been for 4 years)
Favorite Cartoon Character(s): Tom and Jerry (Really?! With all the shows on Nick, Cartoon Network, Disney XD, etc, he picks a throwback cartoon from the 70s/80s?)
Favorite TV Show: Wipeout
Favorite Movie: The Lion King
Favorite Song: “I Like to Move It” from Madagascar 3 (which he calls the “Apple Circus” song)
Favorite Star Wars character: Yoda
Favorite Sports Team: American soccer players
Now for some fun … I asked him a bunch of random questions, just because I was curious about what he’d say, and I thought this would be fun to take a look back on when he’s older.
Where would you want to go on vacation? China
Why is the sky blue? Because the clouds up in the sky make them blue.
How do shows get in the TV? A satellite gets the information then puts on the show then gives it back to our house.
What does Daddy do for work? He works with telescopes and things like that.
What does Mommy do for work? Just work. (Ouch. Really?)
What do you want to do when you grow up? Work on history.
What happens once you get married? You get jobs. And then you’re just, well, married. (Well, that’s depressing …)
Why does the Tooth Fairy collect teeth? To get power and then she thanks you for giving her the teeth that gives her power bygiving you money.
What would you buy with $1 million? A goat.
Wouldn’t we all?
Have a great weekend, everyone!!

A goat – that is so awesome! I also love the marriage question! I like the idea of asking the kids questions. I think I’ll do that for Isabelle and Henry soon. I bet it will be so fun to look back on!
