It’s official. I have a Netflix addiction. Well, make that a Scandal addiction.
I’ve heard friends talk about how they’re “bingeing” on shows like House of Cards or Downton Abbey but I never quite got it. Until now.
I discovered Scandal a few weeks ago, and I am hooked. Line, sinker and all.
Maybe it’s my own White House or crisis communications experience, or the fact that Olivia Pope loves wine as much as I do (those wine glasses!). Maybe it’s because I covet Olivia’s wardrobe. Or maybe it’s that I’ve always had a crush on Noel from Felicity. Whatever it is, something about Scandal is so addictive.
(And am I the only one who can’t look at President Grant without seeing the bad guy from Ghost?).
I posted something on Facebook recently about my newfound obsession with Scandal and my friend joked, “Welcome to Netflix addiction.” But you know what? Sometimes it really does feel that way. Like I have to get my Scandal fix.
Wondering if this could be you? Here are the signs you have a Netflix addiction:
1. You start counting the minutes until your kids go to bed so you can log in to Netflix and start up the next episode.
2. You calculate that you can run about 5 miles on the treadmill per hour-long (well, 42 minutes, to be exact) episode.
3. You keep telling yourself “one more episode” and realize it’s suddenly waaaay past your bedtime.
4. You start calculating how long it will take you to finish your series based on your current pace of 1-2 episodes per day.
5. You seriously begin to consider getting rid of your cable service.
Are you currently addicted to a Netflix show? What should I add to my list after Scandal?
