Ice cream cones. The smell of sunscreen. Cookouts. Fireworks. S’mores. Salty air.
I begin to crave all of these things once the calendar flips over to June and I can just feel that summer is just around the corner.
But honestly, sundress weather marks the true beginning of summer for me.
It’s so easy to throw a sundress on when the temps hit the high 80s and the humidity soars, but still look cute and chic and put-together. I admit I have quite the collection of sundresses, but I may have a new favorite this summer: this adorable and ridiculously comfortable cotton sundress from prAna (which I get to give away to one lucky reader! Keep reading for more details).
It’s funny, this dress is not something I would normally pick out (as you guys know, the only prints I tend to wear are stripes!), but there are soooo many things I love about the Quinn dress.
Like the material, which is is stretchy, soft, quick-drying and sustainable (one of standouts about prAna as a company…seriously, check out their sustainable initiatives).
Anc the beautiful purple-y indigo color and funky lace print.
And the built-in (padded) bra (which is comfortable AND supportive). Or double-strap racerback.
And especially it’s versatility, how you could throw it on with flip-flops after a day at the beach, or you can dress it up with a belt, some wedge espadrille sandals, and a little lipstick for a dinner out (and maybe a cardigan, for work).
You know what else I crave during the summer? Smoothies!
Call me crazy, but I have a hard time drinking a morning smoothie during the chilly winter and spring months; I tend to want my hot coffee on those cold morning commutes, not a frozen drink. But once the heat and humidity hit, I suddenly begin craving berries and ice, pineapple and bananas in the morning.
I typically opt for a protein powder in the morning smoothies, but I decided to mix things up recently with a smoothie made with a cup of frozen blueberries, a half of a frozen banana, a 1/4 cup almond milk, a little bit of water, and Stonyfield Whole Milk Greek Blueberry yogurt.
Not only was it refreshing and delicious, but the combo of the protein and fat in the yogurt kept me full up until lunch time. Now I can’t wait to experiment with different flavors of Stonyfield Whole Milk Greek Yogurt in my morning smoothies!
To help with your summer cravings, prAna and Stonyfield are teaming up to give this same exact prAna Quinn dress I’m wearing above away to one lucky reader! You’ll get to select the color and size.
And don’t worry if you don’t win the giveaway; you can order the dress — or anything else from prAna.com — and save 15% by using my code SCS16JEGR (valid until July 7).
