I participated in Blog Blast on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Prince Pasta. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.
Every day when I pick up my kids after school, the first words out of their mouth are always, “What’s for dinner?” Not “Hi, Mommy!” or “How was your day?” Nope, it’s all about food (not that I can blame them, since it’s usually 5:30pm by that point).
Some of my responses to “What’s for dinner?” are met with cheers, others with groans, some with indifference. But, without fail, the answer that gets Buddy to raise a fist in victory, that prompts Mimi to shriek clap her hands with delight, is pasta.
Spaghetti. Macaroni. Tortellini. Elbows. They’ll eat it all. Without sauce, of course. And only with butter.
So while October is technically National Pasta Month (who knew?), I think my kids wish every day would be National Pasta Day in our house. And truth be told, it usually is … at least a few days a week.
In celebration of National Pasta Month this October, Boston-based Prince Pasta has partnered with Christine and Carla Pallotta, chefs and owners of the Boston-area Italian restaurant, NEBO, to develop creative and easy-to-follow recipes using Prince Pasta.
(Raise your hand if you remember those commercials from your childhood, of an Italian mom in the North End calling out to her son Anthony and a little boy rushing home because he knows Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti Day??)
Each Wednesday this month — in honor of Prince Spaghetti Day and National Pasta Month — Prince Pasta will reveal one of the Pallotta sisters recipes here, showing how to make a simple and delicious meal with Prince Pasta. Think Breakfast Pasta, Cavatappi Funghi, Pasta al Forno and Pasta Piselli … yum!
Since my kids are enthusiastic yet unadventurous pasta eaters, I wanted to share this video of the Pallotta sisters preparing Pasta al Forno, which is like a fancier macaroni and cheese and is something I think my kids would eat.

Enjoy!

YES! I remember the Prince pasta commercials. They’re actually a big deal in my family. You see – I’m Italian-American and my father is named Anthony.
Wednesday WAS Price spaghetti day at his house & when he worked his high school job stocking shelves at a grocery store – he was expected to bring home canned tomatoes for the sauce & prince pasta.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Prince pasta this summer at the “Ahts Festival” in Christopher Columbus Park.
