I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible for me to have a leisurely vacation.
Instead, I am one of those people who tends to pack in as many activities and visits as possible because I don’t want to “miss” anything. And, let’s face it, even though I hate to admit it, I kind of like being busy, and I feel calmed and reassured by things like itineraries and game plans and schedules. Honestly. I don’t think I could go to a beach-front location and just, well, sit for an entire week. By Day 2, I know I’d be going completely stir crazy.
So that about sums up our four day trip to Pennsylvania and Baltimore. We saw friends and family in two different states. We reminisced and told stories. We showed Buddy where he lived as a baby (not surprisingly, he was not too impressed). We caught the last Red Sox game of the season at Camden Yards and counted sharks at the National Aquarium and toured Dr. G’s alma mater.
It was a fun, crazy, jam-packed good time.
See what I mean?
What’s your vacation style? Do you make a travel itinerary, or do you like to fly by the seat of your pants?
