It’s here: school vacation week. (Insert ominous music).
Between our crazy schedule and work travel, this week’s menu is a little low-key:
One of my best friends (who is also a total foodie) recommended the roasted garlic brussel sprouts recipe, so I am dying to try it. Whenever she suggests I try a recipe, I know it’s going to be good. For this week’s New Food Monday, I’m planning to give the kids the plain roasted chickpeas as a side dish along with some chicken and carrots (because I’m not delusional enough to believe they would eat a chickpea salad .. sigh). And here’s the link for the Smitten Kitchen pasta recipe – totally perfect on a cold and snowy day like today.
My gym schedule this week looks like it will be out of whack, too:
SUNDAY: One-hour run (6 mi) at gym (snowing today … boo)
MONDAY: Boot camp
TUESDAY: 4-5 mi run in morning
WEDNESDAY: 30 min elliptical, 20 min weights (in basement; Dr. G. traveling)
THURSDAY: See Wednesday
FRIDAY: Boot camp
SATURDAY: Body Pump
I am with Buddy on Wednesday this week and we have big plans involving the Museum of Science and making your own cupcakes! Anyone else dealing with February school vacation?
P.S. Don’t forget to check out some other dinner ideas on Laura’s and Jill’s blogs.

Oh, roasted chickpeas! I’ve been meaning to try them with L- she stopped eating them plain like she used to. Thanks for the reminder!
I hope the week off school goes well!
