I’m not gonna lie: I am a sweater (and not the cashmere kind). It doesn’t matter whether it’s a leisurely two mile jog, speedwork drills or a Body Pump class … either way, I usually come home dripping in sweat (in all sorts of places, ugh) to the point where I have to literally wring my sports bra out. Gross, right? But I guess sweating is a good thing because …
So you’re probably wondering, what the heck does that mean?
I was recently chosen by FitApproach to join their Sweat PinkΒ Ambassadors network, which is a group of women around the world who sweat hard (like me!), play hard and inspire and motivate people around them. Basically we encourage each other to achieve our best selves and lead healthy and active lifestyles.
Here’s one my favorite quotes from their website: Sweat Pink ambassadors believe strong is the new skinny, pink is the new black, and Β a positive attitude and whole foods are a healthier route to happiness than self-loathing and 100-calorie snack packs.
Love this (well, maybe except the pink vs. black part … half my wardrobe is black, after all).
For me, Sweating Pink means carving time most days of the week to be physically active. Not because I “have to” but because I like the way it makes me feel and I want to set a good example for the kiddos. But I also work full-time, have two little kids, a hefty work commute and a husband who travels frequently, so trust me when I say that finding time to exercise is not always easy. In fact, it’s pretty hard. This means on some mornings I am up before the crack of dawn (4:45am, to be exact) to catch a 5am Body Pump class at the gym or, if Dr. G. is travelling, I work out for 45 minutes on the elliptical machine in the basement before the kiddos wake up. And on those mornings when I just can’t drag myself out of bed (and believe me, there are plenty of those), I try to squeeze in a 3 mile run at lunch or I simply do nothing and enjoy a well-deserved day off. And I try to dedicate some time, even if it’s an hour, on the weekend to some sort of physical activity.
As a Sweat Pink Ambassador, I’ll also be rocking some pink swag soon (though, unfortunately, not in time for the Tufts 10K on Monday). Because if you’re going to work your butt off, you might as well look cute, right?
At the risk of sounding corny, it truly is an honor to join this group of amazing women and I can’t wait to connect with some of my fellow Massachusetts SPAs. Want to learn more about Sweat Pink and FitApproach? Check out their website.
And be sure to keep an eye out soon for some Sweat Pink giveaways!

Hi Jess–found you on the SPA facebook page. Wanted to be the first to stop by your blog and welcome you to the group. If you participate, you will really love it there. There is so much support from those ladies (I sound like I’ve been there forever, but it’s only been about 2 weeks or so, maybe 3 and I have already fell in love with the group). Anyways, I still need to get my gear, and you reminded me of it! π Hope to connect more!!

I am also a new Sweat Pink Ambassador. I have to say I really love for what this brand stands for. It’s not about having the perfect body, it’s about the community that accepts and support us through our journey.
