Disclaimer: I do not consider myself to be a fashion expert, fashion blogger or style guru. So keep that in mind as you read the rest of this post. But I am girl who is obsessed with fashion magazines, likes clothes and takes pride in scoring a bargain. When I get a killer deal, I like to scream it from the rooftops. I’m the person who, if you compliment me on the sweater I’m wearing, will proceed to tell you how I got it for $19.99 at the LOFT Outlet and they have it in a bunch of other colors and you better go check it out. Oh, and I even had a coupon. You get the idea.
So while KMS is not a fashion blog (and I mainly shop at chain stores and outlets) I do consider it one of my vices, which is why I wanted to share these delicious finds.
Dress: $29.99 at H&M
(I have been seriously looking for a plain, crew neck, short sleeved black dress all summer. And I found it last week – coincidentally, while waiting for a table when Dr. G and I were out getting nostaglic celebrating Buddy’s first day of kindergarten). It’s made from a stretchy, thick jersey so it’s super comfy. The only thing I’m not sure about is the back.
Too sexy for a pretty conservative work environment? I’m not sure. I wore my hair down today, just in case.
Necklace: This beauty (which I admit, I’m still a little self-conscious about wearing, since it makes a pretty loud statement) normally retails at J.Crew for a cool $150. I scored this lovely lady off Ebay for $14.99. Sure, it came from Hong Kong and I seriously doubt it’s authentic, but I figure since it’s a statement piece that I will only wear on occasion, getting a knock-off is okay by me. Paying $150 for something I might wear once a month? Not so much.
Shoes: I got these black wedge pumps from Payless, of all places, in the spring for $26.99. Wow, these are some of the comfiest shoes I own! I heart wedges. They are definitely a fashion-conscious mom’s best friend.
Total cost of outfit: $71.97. Cha-ching!
I have a feeling I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this dress, particularly next spring and summer. I think its something I can easily dress up or down. A new wardrobe staple, perhaps?
Have you scored any good bargains lately? Do you have a secret “go to” place for bargain shopping?

Super cute!! I don’t think it’s too “sexy” for work.
