I don’t know about you, but buying gifts for my kids’ teachers is pretty stressful. Do you get something personal, or something neutral? Do you spend a little more than you would normally would, as way of showing how much you appreciate them? Or does it look like you’re trying too hard (or trying to buy favor)?
Yes, I’m sure I am totally over-thinking this, but I know from talking to my fellow mamas that I’m not alone. So for all of you struggling with the whole “What to buy the teacher?” dilemma, perhaps some of these suggestions below might help you score an A+.
Top row (L-R):
Alex and Ani “Apple of Abundance” bracelet (comes in silver or gold)
School supplies for the classroom (for Buddy’s class, all of us parents are going in on a gift certificate to DiscountSchoolSupply.com, which offers everything from classroom cleaning supplies to necessary items like construction paper and paint. )
Bottom row (L-R):
Special order cookies (I think these are adorable)
Beads for Learning (These bracelets are designed by Maasai artisans in Kenya to symbolize the bright futures of educated children. All proceeds from the sales of these bracelets go to pay for local teachers’ salaries in Kenya.)
Gift cards also make a great teacher gift. That’s what I usually end up getting for the teachers at daycare (who couldn’t use a Target gift card??). Another idea? If you know your child’s teacher is an animal lover, for example, consider making a donation in the teacher’s name to the SPCA or Adopt-a-Pet organizations.
And although I didn’t list it here, my teacher friends always say that a handwritten note from your child is honestly one of the best gifts they receive, so keep that in mind as well.
Happy shopping! And be sure to check back tomorrow for gift ideas for boys.

Great ideas! I love the Beads for Learning idea: I think I’m going to order them right now for my son’s teacher. Thank you!
