Why is it sooooo hard to buy gifts for men? Every year I agonize over what to get Dr. G., not to mention our respective dads. You ask any of them what they want and the answer is always, “I don’t know.” And really. They. Don’t. Know.
Sigh.
Clothes are tricky (at least pants), most guys don’t wear accessories and who really needs another tie? I wish there were “go to” gifts for men. Think about it: a guy walks into a jewelry store, and the chances are pretty high that he’s going to pick out a gift that his intended recipient will like.
So in the spirit of hopefully making your lives a little easier this holiday season, here are some gifts to consider for the guy on your shopping list (P.S. Dr. G., I hate to break it to you, but you’re not getting any of these … I have to have some surprises):
Top Row, L-R:
Brooklyn Brew Beer Making Kit, Everyday IPA: My husband would love this. It sounds super easy and its small enough to brew in a tiny kitchen. Yum.
Metrokane V1 World’s First Vacuum Decanter: Could be the perfect gift for the wine connoisseur in your life.
Bottom Row, L-R:
Young House Love: 243 Ways to Paint, Craft, Update & Show Your Home Some Love: I am obsessed with John and Sherry’s blog of the same name, so this would kind of be a gift for me too, but I’m really tempted to get their book of home projects for my own Mr. Fix-It.
Isotoner Men’s Smartouch Fleece Lined Glove: Now he can text and keep his hands warm.
Top Row, L-R:
Wolfgang Puck 10-piece Stainless Steel Garnish and Peeler Set: My husband is a foodie, so I’m naturally drawn to these kinds of gifts, but this set looks awesome – and handy.
Nau Pad Stash: Is it a wallet? An iPad case? Hmm, maybe it’s both. Either way, it looks durable, functional and comfortable (it’s die-cut from wool felt).
Bottom Row, L-R:
L.L. Bean Knit Slipper Socks: Because women aren’t the only ones whose feet get cold.
Leatherman OHT Multitool: The ideal gift for the handyman/MacGyver on your list. This crazy thing comes with 16 tools (including two different kinds of pliers and four different screwdrivers), so there’s a good chance that it can help with pretty much every job.

So that concludes the first Keeping Mommy Sane Holiday Gift Guide! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. So here’s my question for you: Who is the most challenging person for you to shop for?
