Happy Friday! So I’m guessing by now most have you have noticed that Keeping Mommy Sane looks a little different. I’m so excited for my blog makeover and redesign! What do you think? Major kudos to the awesome Becca at Jumpin’ Jax Designs, who very patiently answered all my utterly clueless questions.
Anyway, on to today’s Five for Friday!
1. Today’s random thought: Are keys becoming obsolete? I realized yesterday that I didn’t use a single key all day: my car has one of those kinda-freaky button ignitions, I enter my house through the garage (which opens with a remote), and I just wave my badge to get into my office. Sort of weird, right?
2. Why, oh why, did I wait so long to purchase box wine? I love that you can just have one glass when you feel like one, without having to open (and potentially waste) a whole bottle. And, hello, its four whole bottles! I’ve become a huge fan of Bota Box. Yum.
3. I have a bit of an almond obsession and I usually keep some variety of Trader Joe’s flavored almonds in my desk at work. Every day, around 11am, I go mindlessly munching on them (this week’s flavor: Mesquite Smoked Seasoned) and when lunchtime rolls around I am so completely and utterly full that I am not hungry for lunch until, say, 2pm. Do almonds fill anyone else up like that? Or does it suggest I am probably snacking on more than the serving size??
4. Yesterday I did my first run (4 miles) in my new Brooks Glycerins and yay! No burning pain in the ball of my left foot! This week’s long run is 8 miles and I’m still not sure where this will take place. I barely got through 7 miles on the treadmill last week (a big shout out goes to Team USA Hockey, who were playing at the same time and got me through that run), so I’m hoping the snow melts enough (and the sidewalks clear enough) to do a little outdoors running!
5. We may be shopping for a “big girl” bed for someone this weekend. <tear>
