Favorite Things Friday: Valentine’s Day Activities For The Uncrafty Mom

I am not a crafty person. I can’t walk into Michael’s and grab a random basket of ribbon, felt, glue and stickers and come up with a pin-worthy masterpiece. Whenever I do, it looks like something my kindergartner made in art class. I don’t sew, either (besides fixing a loose button). And while I like to bake, I wouldn’t have the first clue on how to whip up a recipe from scratch.

But here’s what I am good at: following directions. Give me a recipe or a set of instructions and I am rocking and rolling. But ask me to create one myself? Uhhhh, not so much. It’s funny – I consider myself a “creative” person, but in reality, I think I am probably more analytical … hence, my need for instructions.

And this is why I heart Pinterest (no pun intended).

Given the pending snowstorm, and the fact that we are going to be housebound for at least 24 hours, I thought I’d check out all the Valentine’s Day crafts, recipes, etc. – all with instructions – that I have been pinning to my Pinterest boards over the last few weeks.
