I’m super excited to be a featured guest blogger on Nyopoly’s Style blog today! For those of you not familiar with Nyopoly, it’s kind of like is a Priceline for really cool accessories. It’s a members-only site (and free to register), and then you can negotiate your price on everything from handbags to jewelry to scarves to perfume.
They asked me to write about “Being a Fashionable Mom,” which I’m still not sure I’m really qualified to write about, but I love fashion (and I hate “mom jeans”) so this was a fun topic. Here’s the link to my post!
(And please, take my advice with a grain of salt. I’m not a fashion expert …. I’m just a girl trying to look presentable – and stylish, if I’m lucky – with limited time in the morning.)
Speaking of “mom jeans,” here’s a look back in time to one of my favorite SNL skits. Tina Fey is my idol (I learned that she came up with this mock commercial after listening to the Bossypants audio book last weekend on my drive to New Jersey).
Okay, ladies, time to share your secrets: How do you stay fashionable as a busy mom?

Great post and I love that mom jeans sketch… did you hear the last lyric of the song? “When you’ve given up, givin’ up, put on your mom jeans.” Haven’t we all been there?? To try and look presentable, I try to add color and I love statement jewelry and scarves, and really fun boots during the fall/winter season. If you can resist the mom jeans and just add some colorful accessories, it’s fairly easy to look stylish. Even if I have no time for makeup… now where did I put my mascara? 🙂 Happy Friday, Jessica!

Exactly! My jewelry box is overflowing with bright, colorful necklaces, etc, yet my drawers are full of plain, solid color tops. But it makes it easy when you have two kids whining about getting ready or refusing to get out of bed and you suddenly realize you have 10 minutes to get ready. I’m all about making things easy. Thanks, Julie 🙂
