It’s a Favorite Things Friday/Fall Fashion Finds edition. Gotta love the alliteration, right?
I am not really a style blogger, but as I’ve said before, I love fashion – especially shopping for fall clothes. Something about the colors – gold, plum (and it’s “cousin,” oxblood), brown, orange – just speak to me. I stocked up on several pieces that can be mixed-and-matched and jazzed up with either a statement necklace, long necklace or riding boots.
(Top row) LOFT “Kate” pants in Cordovan; Old Navy striped dress; Ily Couture black statement necklace; Gap modern boot cut pants; (Middle row) J.Crew tights in Acorn; LOFT button-back 3/4 sleeve sweater in Violet Blue Heather; LOFT striped shirt w/zipper shoulder in Deep Lake Blue; LOFT U-neck dolman sleeve sweater in Picnic Orange. (Bottom row) Banana Republic skinny cords in Burgundy (now on sale!); Nine West Shiza tall boots @ Macy’s; LOFT wide wale corduroy mini skirt in Autumn Mustard; LOFT necklace (no longer available online); and LOFT skirt (similar).
Also, I didn’t include it here, but I usually end up pairing most of my black pieces with my Payless wedge pumps, which you have seen here on the blog before.
You won’t notice a lot of variety here in terms of brands. Honestly? It’s because I’m lazy. I don’t have a lot of time to shop, so I’m usually limited to stores that are (1) easy for me to get to (meaning they are near my house, office or on my commute), and (2) easy to navigate (I stress out at department stores).
Between my LOFT coupons and the crazy sales they seemed to be having weekly this fall (40% off the whole store??!), I got all of these LOFT pieces at ridiculously good prices. Not to be outdone, the BR cords were also purchased at 40% off as part of an online sale (plus they’re currently on sale right now!). The Gap pants – my absolute FAVORITE work pant; I have them in black, navy and gray – were purchased at 30% off. The statement necklace was purchased at 50% off as part of a Living Social deal. And I had an online Macy’s coupon that I used on the boots.
So, really, the only things I purchased here at full price were the Old Navy dress, which was a steal at $29 (and is now on sale for $25), and the J. Crew tights. Yes, at $24, they are a little pricey for tights, but I absolutely could not find a natural-looking, nude-ish pair of tights with a pattern or texture that didn’t look like grandma pantyhose. I was so happy I stumbled across these!
So there you have it: some trendy pieces, some classic pieces and – more importantly – some bargains!
Question: What are your fall fashion must-haves?
Disclaimer: As you can tell from my gloating about the deals I scored, I purchased all of these items myself.
