I think I can honestly say I have seasonal affective disorder this winter.
Hey, Mother Nature, I call uncle, okay?
With more than 80 (?!) inches of snow so far this winter, spring seems like a dream, something I might have seen once upon a time, but I’m not sure if it’s real. And don’t even ask me about summer.
So instead I am trying to think ahead to some of the races I have lined up for later this year, when I can see that green stuff on the ground (grass, I think it’s called) and that mysterious, yellowish-orange circle is visible up in the sky.
One of these races is ZOOMA Cape Cod in Falmouth on Saturday, September 26. I’m so proud to be a ZOOMA ambassador for the second straight year!
I ran this race last year and aside from a stupid rookie running mistake, I had a wonderful time. Between my fellow race ambassadors (an amazing group of ladies), the perfect weather, running along the ocean, the after party … it truly was a run-cation!
Honestly, I’m getting a little misty-eyed looking at the sand, sun, surf and tank tops. Will we ever get back there??
Anyway, if you’re not familiar with ZOOMA, it’s a ladies-only race through the streets of Falmouth that features both a half marathon and a 10K. The half marathon course is definitely tough but its varied — you’ll run on running trails, through cozy neighborhoods, alongside the ocean. ..it’s definitely quintessential Cape Cod.
All runners will also have access to a full weekend of yoga, a mocktail party, and a fitness expo, in addition to wine from Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, post-race massages, shopping, and live music at the post-race after-party expo. And definitely take advantage of discounted room rates at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel — can’t beat having the race start and end outside your front door!
So if you’re sick of winter and are looking for a fun girls weekend at the beach, register today! And if you use the code JESSICAG15, you can save 10%!
