Happy Monday! Can you believe Memorial Day — the unofficial start to summer, and the date of my first trail race (!) — is one week from today?
Seriously, what the heck happened to spring? Maybe it was our brutal winter, but I feel like we leapfrogged right from winter to summer around here … or maybe it was that hot, sunny and steamy 80 degrees weather yesterday in Massachusetts that makes me feel that way.
Anyway, the temperatures — and the calendar — have me thinking about fun summer family activities. We’re headed to Cape Cod again for a week in July, but we don’t really have anything else planned just yet. But one thing we did a few years ago was take an amazing 2-hour sail around Boston Harbor, and I’m thinking it’s time to do that again.
The Classic Harbor Line Cruise sail aboard the Adirondack III, a wooden 80-foot pilot schooner, gives you incredible views of Boston that you can only see from the water.
Within five minutes of leaving the dock, you’ll forget the craziness and noise of the city, and just enjoy the wind in your hair as you cruise around Boston Harbor. Something about being on the water like that reminds me of my childhood and it just puts a smile on my face. Plus it was something fun and different to do with the kiddos.
Mimi was just two when we went last time, and since she’ll be four (!) this summer, I think she’ll get much more out of it. Same with Buddy. And this year we’ll probably try and make a total day in the city out of it — maybe grab some lunch, walk around, then head over for our day sail.
Sounds fun, right? Well, come join us! My readers will save 15% off Classic Harbor Line Cruise if you buy your tickets online and use the promo code Mom2015.
Boston-area friends, definitely think about adding this to your summer bucket list!
Have you started thinking about summer activities yet? What’s on your list?
Disclaimer: I will receive tickets for the cruise for sharing this information with my readers, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I agree with you that MA jumped over spring & went right to summer.
I noticed it because I participate in a monthly photo blogging challenge and our theme for May is “Spring”. I’ve had a hard time getting photos for this theme, since it’s been so summery.
I just got back from a work trip to Washington DC where the weather was in the 90s! (A bit warm for me.)
