Oh God, another snow day. That makes No. 4 (or is it 5?) this school year. At this rate, they’ll be in school until July!
Anyway, I think such a gross, snowy day is as good a time as any to share some silly random facts about me. Here we go…
1. I know all the words to “Ice Ice Baby.” And I’ve only performed it in public once…well, kind of. More on that some other time.
2. I could watch “House Hunters” all day long.
3. I have crazy flexible hips and can stand with my feet turned out at a 90 degree angle.
4. I tore my ACL about 10 years ago playing in a softball league down in Baltimore.
5. I have all my wisdom teeth.
6. As much as I’ve tried to stop, I remain a nail biter.
7. I must immediately change the channel if one of those gut-wrenching ASPCA commercials comes on. Can’t. Watch.
8. I despise being tickled. Despise.
9. But not as much as I despise yellow (summer) squash. Or any movie featuring Nicolas Cage or Jim Carrey. (One exception: “The Family Man.”)
10. I still hold my nose when diving underwater.
11. I spent much of junior high referring to myself as Jessi. With a heart over the “i.” Naturally.
12. Speaking of junior high, I must have owned like 70 “Sweet Valley High” books. And I still remember how shocked I was when that dirty dog Bruce Patman untied Jessica Wakefield’s bikini top when they were swimming. Scandalous.
13. Normally, if you asked me where I would travel to if money wasn’t an option, I would immediately answer “Paris” — my favorite city on the planet. But after this winter? Has to be Hawaii.
14. I still remember the full names of all of my Cabbage Patch dolls. But I couldn’t tell you what I had for breakfast yesterday.
15. I used to dream of being a sportswriter. And a novelist. Maybe someday…

haha. What a great list– I was more into the Babysitter’s Club!
Kimberly @ Red Shutters says
14: Mine was (is, actually, my daughter has her now) Caren Linnea.
12: Me too!
10: Me too (again)!
9: I am so with you on this one! Films with Cage and Carrey are a guarantee of “I never want to see them!”
Fun post!

hmm, tough one but I completely agree with you on the Jim Carrey movies. In junior high a boy told me that more boys would like me if I wasn’t so skinny. Now? As if.
Krystyn @ Really, Are You Serious? says
I used to know all of the words to a Salt N Peppa CD. Now, I don’t even know the name of the CD.
I tore ligaments in my ankle falling out of a bus…no, it wasn’t moving, I just can’t step properly!

Love these facts Jessi, with a heart over the i! Hilarious. I loved the Christopher Pike books along with the Sweet Valley Highs!
Lori Popkewitz Alper says
Thanks for sharing! My ‘i’ in Lori also had a heart for many, many years. I think I might go back to that!

In middle school I dreamed of being a marine biologist! Sweet Valley High and the V.C. Andrews books were on the top of my reading list! I couldn’t get enough of those books even though I would probably cringe if my soon-to-be middle school daughter brought any of them home!
